The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has officially registered Governor Siminalayi Fubara as a member of the party.
A photograph shared by Tony Okocha, media aide to the state APC chairman, shows Governor Fubara placing his thumbprint in what is believed to be the party’s official register. The registration ceremony took place on Friday at the Government House, Port Harcourt.
Governor Fubara had previously announced his intention to join the APC on Tuesday, stating that his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was in the interest of the people of Rivers State. He described the move as a gesture of appreciation to President Bola Tinubu, whom he credited as a reason for his continued tenure as Governor.
