The 2016 Paralympic Games opened this morning in Rio de Janeiro to a
backdrop of colour and music as thousands of performers were involved
either side of the two-hour procession of competing countries at the
Maracana.
The opening ceremony, though brilliant and colourful, was marred by a
brief incident as Athletes supported Russia, banned from Games due to
doping allegations, by carrying country’s flag during procession. More
