The House of Representatives will on Wednesday and Thursday vote on a series of constitution amendment bills as lawmakers push to conclude the ongoing constitution review before the end of 2025.

Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu announced the schedule during plenary on Tuesday, calling on members to prepare and fully participate in the crucial voting sessions. Kalu, who also chairs the Constitution Review Committee, described the upcoming exercise as a significant step toward finalising long-awaited constitutional reforms.

The Nation learned that the Senate and the House have already reached consensus on about 44 of the more than 60 proposals presented during the recently concluded zonal public hearings.

Among the major bills slated for consideration are those seeking the creation of special seats for women, the establishment of state police, state creation, indigeneship reforms, electoral reforms, and several other key amendments.
