The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajuddeen Abbas, has lost his elder brother, Aminu Pate.
A statement issued by the Media and Publicity Officer of the Zazzau Emirate Council, Malam Abdullahi Kwarbai, confirmed that Pate died on Wednesday night after a protracted illness at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Zaria.
Until his death, Pate held the traditional title of Wamban Dawakin Zazzau. He was also a retired civil servant who rose to the rank of Director of Personnel Management and served in various local government councils in Kaduna State.
He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
According to Kwarbai, funeral prayers for the deceased will be held at the Emir of Zazzau’s Palace by 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
