Police Detain Two as Investigation Continues
American rapper Offset has been hospitalised after being shot in Florida, with a viral video now showing the aftermath of the incident.
The former member of the Atlanta-based hip-hop trio Migos, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was shot on Monday evening, April 6, near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, just outside Miami.
A spokesperson for the 34-year-old confirmed that he is currently receiving treatment in hospital and is in stable condition.
“We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care. He is stable and being closely monitored,” the statement read.
The Seminole Police Department said the incident occurred at a valet area shortly after 7 p.m., resulting in non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood for treatment.
Police added that officers responded immediately, secured the scene, and detained two individuals in connection with the incident.
Meanwhile, a video circulating online captures the aftermath of the shooting, showing a heavy police presence at the scene as officers cordoned off the area and took suspects into custody.
Authorities said the situation was quickly contained and assured the public there is no ongoing threat, with normal operations continuing at the venue.
