Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has named a final 26-man squad for the FIFA World Cup, including key players Antoine Semenyo and Thomas Partey, as he waits until the final moment to confirm his selections.

Ghana will face Wales in Cardiff on Tuesday in a warm-up friendly before heading to North America for their fifth World Cup appearance. The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama.

Veteran forward Jordan Ayew has been named captain of the squad, while Tottenham winger Mohammed Kudus will miss the tournament due to injury.

Partey’s inclusion comes despite his pending legal situation in the United Kingdom, where he is due to stand trial on rape and sexual assault charges. He has denied the allegations.

Semenyo, 26, is expected to play a key attacking role after an impressive season that saw him emerge as one of Ghana’s standout performers.
