Russian President Vladimir Putin has responded to a recent warning from former U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Trump had cautioned that if Putin failed to end the war, he would enforce “high levels of Taxes, Tariffs, and Sanctions” on Russian goods if re-elected.

However, Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesman, also responded to Trump’s threat of sanctions and tariffs.

“We do not see any particularly new elements here. He likes these methods, at least he liked them during his first presidency,” he told reporters.

Russia insisted that it saw nothing particularly new in Trump’s threat of sanctions.

Peskov maintained that Moscow was ready for an equal and mutually respectful dialogue with the US.

Meanwhile, Russia’s Deputy United Nations Ambassador, Dmitry Polyanskiy, who also spoke on the matter on Thursday, told Reuters that it depends on what a “deal” means.
