Nigerian influencer and entrepreneur, Priscilla Ojo Mkambala, daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, has responded to social media critics who mocked her for wearing the same pair of shoes to two different occasions.
The new mum recently attended an event dressed in a blue gown and matching blue heels, which online users quickly noticed were the same shoes she wore to her wedding reception months ago.
Some followers questioned why she repeated the footwear despite her celebrity status, prompting Priscilla to issue a firm response on social media.
“My generation girls are living in delusion, thinking I should only wear Jimmy Choos once just because my fanbase is bigger now,” she wrote.
She went on to criticize the social media culture of unrealistic expectations, which she said puts unnecessary pressure on young women to live beyond their means.
“This exact reason is why many young girls feel pressured by social media to fit an unrealistic standard. ‘I need to be a big girl,’ but often they lack the financial means to support that lifestyle,” she said.
Priscilla concluded her post by asserting her independence and self-confidence, stating that the opinions of online critics do not define her.
“Note: My life will go however I want it to go. As long as my family, friends, and honest fans are happy, every other person’s opinion is just noise.”
