The British royal family has announced the birth of a baby girl to Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank.

The baby was born on Monday, August 3, at 6:20 p.m. in a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal, weighing 6lb 9oz.

The newborn is the couple’s third child, joining their two sons, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, born in 2021, and Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank, born in 2023.

Buckingham Palace confirmed the birth in an official statement, saying:

“Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family were delighted to be informed of the news.”

Princess Eugenie, 36, also shared the joyful announcement on Instagram, expressing her excitement over the newest addition to the family.

“Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie,” she wrote.

The couple has not yet revealed the baby’s name.

The new royal is 15th in the line of succession to the British throne.

Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank divide their time between Portugal and Ivy Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace. They announced they were expecting their third child in May, when the princess shared a photo of her two sons holding an ultrasound scan alongside the caption:

“Baby Brooksbank due 2026!”
