Popular Nigerian actress, Aunty Ajara, has passed away following a brief battle with a liver-related illness.
Her death was confirmed by doctors to her family earlier on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
Announcing the sad development in a viral video shared on social media, the late actress’ elder brother, Ridwan Lazeez, expressed appreciation to members of the public for their financial and moral support during her illness.
Also sharing the announcement on her Instagram page, Mama No Network disclosed that the actress died after what she described as a long and courageous fight with illness.
“With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved actress, Aunty Ajara. She passed on overnight after a long and courageous battle with illness,” she stated.
She further expressed gratitude to those who supported the actress during her treatment, noting that the family received overwhelming love, prayers, and financial assistance from well-wishers across the world.
“During this difficult period, Ajara received immense love, prayers, and financial support from kind-hearted people across the world. We are deeply grateful to everyone who stood by her with prayers, contributions, encouragement, and compassion,” she added.
Mama No Network also urged the public to stop sending money to the previously shared account, stating that further financial support was no longer required.
“At this moment, we kindly urge family, friends, and the general public to please stop sending money to the previously shared account, as it is no longer required. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, loved ones, and everyone grieving this painful loss. May her soul rest in perfect peace,” she said.
The actress’ death comes just days after some of her colleagues appealed to the public for financial assistance to support her medical treatment.
