Three children who reportedly went missing after leaving home for Islamic classes have been found dead inside the boot of a parked vehicle in Tamale, Ghana.
The children, identified as three-year-old Dauda Abdul Aziz, five-year-old Saani Alsharaf and seven-year-old Dauda Fadilan, were reported missing after leaving their homes at about 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2026. Their disappearance prompted community members to launch a search for them.
Their bodies were discovered at about 5:00 a.m. on Monday, October 5, inside the boot of a black Hyundai Tucson found stuck in mud at Koblimahagu Zuo in the Tamale Metropolis. Police said a preliminary inspection showed that some of the vehicle’s doors were open, while the boot and other doors were locked.

The vehicle was reportedly owned by a member of the Ghana Immigration Service, who told investigators that it had been stuck in the area for about five days. The owner has been taken into custody to assist with the investigation, while the vehicle has been secured for forensic examination.
The Inspector-General of Police has deployed homicide investigators, crime scene experts and intelligence officers to Tamale to support the Northern Regional Police Command. The children’s bodies have been conveyed for autopsy as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
Police have urged members of the public to remain calm, assuring them that all necessary investigative steps are being taken to establish what happened to the three children.
