The Plateau State Association UK (PSA-UK) has partnered with the Child Protection Initiative Against Cyber Crime (C-C Pro) to support the fifth edition of the Nigeria Teen Cyber Festival (ngTeenCyberFest 5.0), with two young Plateau indigenes set to receive awards for their innovation and creativity.
The festival is scheduled to hold on October 20, 2026, at the African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Abuja, bringing together young people, educators, technology professionals and other stakeholders to promote digital safety, innovation and responsible technology use.
Under the partnership, two young Plateau indigenes will receive the C-C Pro/PSA-UK Innovators Awards in recognition of their creativity, innovation and contributions to the technology sector.
Founder of C-C Pro, Delmwa Gogwim FIMC/CPMC, expressed excitement over the partnership, commending Plateau indigenes living in the United Kingdom for investing in the development of young people back home.
She said the collaboration demonstrates the importance of diaspora contributions in creating opportunities for the younger generation and preparing them for emerging careers in technology.
“The world is going tech, and partnerships like this will be key in helping young people see themselves not just as users of technology, but as future tech experts, innovators and problem-solvers,” Gogwim said.
She added that the decision by Nigerians abroad to support initiatives in their home communities reflects a commitment to empowering young people through exposure, experience and access to opportunities.
C-C Pro said the partnership aligns with its commitment to providing positive opportunities for teenagers by exposing them to technology, cybersecurity and innovation while raising awareness about the dangers of cybercrime.
The organisers said the C-C Pro/PSA-UK Innovators Awards would also showcase the talents of young people from Plateau State and encourage more teenagers to develop innovative solutions to societal challenges.
The initiative is expected to promote interest in technology and inspire young people to explore opportunities in cybersecurity and other digital fields.
Schools, parents, technology enthusiasts, partners and other stakeholders have been invited to participate in the festival, which aims to encourage responsible digital engagement and nurture the next generation of Nigerian innovators.
The fifth Nigeria Teen Cyber Festival will hold on October 20, 2026, at AUST in Abuja.
