Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum and Plateau State Governor
Simon Lalong on monday called on Nigerians to unite inorder to move
the country forward .
Governor Lalong in a statement by his Director of Press and Public
Affairs Dr. Makut Simon Macham on the occasion of the nation’s
59thIndependence Anniversary said the day is one that remains
significant because of the giant strides attained since Nigeria gained
independence and became a sovereign nation.
The Governor says “though the nation continues to face many challenges,
we have to remain resolute and join hands to overcome these challenges
as we build a virile nation that we all desire”.
Governor Lalong used the occasion to assure the people of Plateau State
of his determination to build a State that will be prosperous, peaceful
and a haven for investment and business.
He declared “ in my second and final tenure, we have come up with a
development Plan that we shall implement religiously in line with our 3
pillar policy thrust of Peace, Security and good governance, physical
infrastructural development and sustainable economic rebirth because
Plateau State is ours to build for the sake of generations to come”.
Lalong asked the people of the state to sustain the peace that has
been restored while ensuring that they take advantage of government
initiatives to create wealth and be productive.
