Naanlong Daniel Gapyil has emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress primary election for the Mikang State Constituency seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking shortly after the exercise, the Speaker expressed gratitude to God and appreciated the people of Mikang Local Government Area for what he described as their confidence, support, and belief in his leadership.

Gapyil described the primary election as a “family affair,” stressing that there was no victor or vanquished in the contest, as all aspirants and party members remained part of one political family working for the progress of Mikang and the APC.

According to him, the outcome of the primary should strengthen unity, cooperation, and brotherhood among party faithful rather than create division within the constituency.

The Speaker called on APC stakeholders, supporters, youths, and women groups to unite and work together ahead of the general elections, emphasizing that the development of Mikang remains the collective priority.

He reaffirmed his commitment to quality representation and pledged continued focus on education, infrastructure development, empowerment programmes, and other people-oriented initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of residents.

Gapyil also extended appreciation to other aspirants who participated in the primary election, commending them for demonstrating maturity and democratic spirit throughout the process.

Meanwhile, supporters and residents across Mikang have continued to celebrate his victory, describing it as a reflection of his grassroots support, performance, and commitment to the development of the constituency.

The statement was issued by the Speaker’s Press Secretary, Philip Eplong.
