The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is set to present the certificate of return to the Plateau State Governor-elect, Caleb Mutfwang today 30th March as security operatives take adequate measures.
The electoral umpire had declared the Peoples Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate, as the winner of the February 25th governorship polls.
Mutfwang polled 525,299 votes to win the 2023 governorship election to defeat his closest rival of the ruling All Progressive Congress, Nentawe Yilwada, who scored 481,370 votes in a keenly contested election.
The PDP governorship candidate won in 10 local government areas while the APC won in 7 Local Government Areas.
The INEC Presiding Officer, Professor Idris Amali, announced Mutfwanhg as the winner after counting the votes scored by parties that participated in the election.
A statement from the Directorate of Media & Publicity, Mutfwang-Piyo Campaign Council, Plateau State, signed by Hon. Yiljap Abraham stated that the ceremony will hold at the State INEC Headquarters along Miango Road, Jos at 10 am.
