Plateau 2027: ADD Campaign Urges Supporters to Remain Calm as NDC Candidacy Dispute Goes to Court

The campaign organisation of Alfred Dapal Damiyal has urged supporters of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Plateau State to remain calm and law-abiding amid a dispute over the party’s governorship candidacy ahead of the 2027 election.

In a press statement issued on Saturday, October 10, 2026, the Alfred Dapal Damiyal (ADD) Campaign said the matter concerning the party’s legitimate governorship candidate was before a court of competent jurisdiction.

The statement followed a recent publication presenting a suspended party member as the NDC governorship candidate in Plateau State.

The campaign expressed confidence in the judicial process, insisting that the dispute should be resolved through lawful and constitutional means.

It cautioned supporters against allowing media reports and political declarations to create confusion, anxiety or division within the party.

“Media reports and political declarations do not replace the judicial process,” the statement said, urging party faithful to remain patient while awaiting the court’s decision.

The campaign also warned against alleged attempts by individuals and interests to infiltrate the party, create confusion and undermine the aspirations of its members.

It called on supporters to avoid spreading unverified information, engaging in unnecessary confrontations or taking actions that could undermine the party’s interests.

Reaffirming its commitment to the 2027 Plateau State governorship election, the ADD Campaign said it remained focused on grassroots mobilisation, political engagements and promoting its vision for the state.

The campaign maintained that it would not be distracted or discouraged by the ongoing dispute, urging supporters to demonstrate discipline, unity and faith in the rule of law.

The statement was signed by ADD Media, the campaign’s Media and Communications Team, under the slogan: “Newthinking for a Safe, United and Prosperous Plateau.”
