Peter Obi Meets Swiss Ambassador, Seeks Stronger Partnership for Nigeria’s Development

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on Tuesday met with the Swiss Ambassador to Nigeria, Patrick Egloff, to discuss ways of strengthening collaboration in support of Nigeria’s development.

Obi disclosed details of the meeting in a post shared on his social media platforms on Wednesday, describing the discussions as productive and focused on advancing national development through strategic partnerships.

According to him, the meeting centred on Nigeria’s development trajectory, with particular emphasis on key sectors including poverty reduction, healthcare and education.

He expressed appreciation to the Swiss Confederation for its longstanding support to Nigeria, acknowledging its contributions to economic development, humanitarian assistance, cultural cooperation and peace-building efforts, particularly in the North-East.

Obi noted that stronger international partnerships built on shared values and a commitment to human development are essential to achieving sustainable growth and improving the well-being of Nigerians.

He added that expanding cooperation with development partners would help create a more prosperous, inclusive and resilient nation.
