Former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has expressed dismay over the growing trend of Nigerian youths accepting payments from politicians to insult and discredit advocates of good governance online.
Speaking at Johns Hopkins University in Washington, D.C., Obi described the situation as both disheartening and ironic, noting that the same youths who are being used to derail reform efforts are the ones who stand to benefit most from a transparent and accountable government.
“Go to Nigeria, youths are being paid just ₦20,000 by politicians to insūlt those f!ghting for their future on social media.”
