Akson has joined words with rivals of embattled party Chairman in
Plateau State, Damisi Sango, saying that the latter cannot be removed
and would not vacant his position without the intervention of the party
NEC.

Akson who is a former Chief Whip of the State House of Assembly in
the Second Republic on the platform of the Nigeria People Party ,NPP,
during the Governorship of Chief Solomon Daushep Lar, said those calling
for Sango’s exit are part of the unprincipled group of politicians who
now people the polity.

He said the lack of tolerance and indiscipline has given politics a
bad name and made commitment to the welfare of the people a mirage.

Akson who stated this in an interview with our correspondent at his
country home in Rukuba Road, Ajingi in Bassa Local Government said even
his party, the PDP lost the glory that would have crowned its years in
power to the same intolerance, which the ruling All Progressives
Congress, APC, is perpetuating in the name of political correctness .

“You see all these governors who left the ruling PDP had huge numbers
of followers or supporters that was the beginning of the collapse of
PDP, leading to the loss elections of the 2015 presidency. Mr President
then, Goodluck Jonathan was misled by some of our top members that he
ended up been frustrated “, he noted .

He disclosed that as the former Chairman, Plateau Elders Forum , the
crises of confidence currently tearing at the soul of the state chapter
of the results from the lack of leadership

According to him , there are constitutional guidelines to amend problem but non of the aggrieved party wants to yield ground.

Yes, I agreed that the competition is there as former party leader ,we most understand ourselves and tolerate each other .

‘However, the Chris Hassan disgraced themselves and follow the wrong
channel when they should have allowed the party’s NWC to follow the
intervention properly to its logical conclusion because it is only the
National leadership that can take concrete action. The interim or
caretaker committee lacks the power to take power.”

He reiterated that when the National secretariat urged them to step
aside and when that didn’t go down well with the Sango and Chris Hassan
group, “both resorted to taking decision that was capable tearing us
apart”

“However they see it ,Hon Damishi Sango remain the authentic chairman of PDP in Plateau state .

We advised that the National secretariat should to meet on it and
take a decisive measure anif Chris Hassan or the Damishi Sango is at
fault then the constitution of the party the national should be invoked
to quell the crisi..

“I set up a committee before the expiration of my office to see who
are really true members before I immediately handed over but former
Governor Fidelis Naanyap Tapgun defected to APC, which compounded the
problem

Akson advised the aggrieved members to see themselves as member of one family and “let sleeping dogs lie”.

When asked about his assessment of Governor Simon Lalong , he said
the governor has performed below average in the area of infrastructure,
security and human capital development.
