Outrage as Video Shows Indian National Allegedly Assaulting Two Nigerian Truck Drivers in Lagos

A video showing an Indian national allegedly assaulting two Nigerian truck drivers along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has sparked outrage on social media, with calls for justice for the victims.

The footage, which went viral on Monday, October 12, 2026, reportedly shows the man striking one of the drivers with a stick while the other was restrained by individuals said to be his associates. The incident allegedly occurred at the premises of Karma Agric Feed & Foods Ltd., located around Km 12 of the expressway.

The victims were identified as Rilwan Olajide and Taiwo Yinusa. According to the Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO), the confrontation reportedly followed a disagreement over a request for demurrage compensation.

Footage from the incident also shows some individuals demanding the keys to the trucks, while the drivers reportedly resisted, insisting that the vehicles belonged to them. The circumstances surrounding the dispute and the events leading to the alleged assault have not been fully established.

AMATO condemned the alleged treatment of the two transport workers, describing the incident as a serious matter requiring an impartial investigation. The association called on the relevant police authorities to identify everyone involved, preserve available evidence and ensure that anyone found culpable is prosecuted in accordance with the law.

The video has generated widespread reactions, with many social media users demanding accountability and questioning the treatment of Nigerian workers on their own soil.

As of the latest reports, there was no confirmed information on arrests or an official response from the company concerning the allegations.
