Public reaction has trailed a viral video showing officers of the Nigeria Police Force dragging a National Youth Service Corps member in Ado-Ekiti, with many Nigerians condemning what they describe as growing incidents of harassment.

The footage, shared on X by user #ChuksEricE on Tuesday, captured the moment three uniformed officers forcefully led the corps member away in front of a school, while bystanders watched. Two other corps members in uniform were also seen at the scene.

An eyewitness who recorded the incident expressed anger at the officers’ conduct, criticizing what he alleged to be a pattern of intimidation. Speaking in Yoruba, the individual accused the officers of targeting young people and attempting to seize his phone while he filmed the encounter.

“They wish to take my phone,” he said, as voices in the background urged him to continue recording and share the video publicly.

The witness was also heard warning the corps member not to follow the officers, repeatedly cautioning against going with them.

The circumstances that led to the altercation remain unclear, and authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the incident.

However, the video has sparked widespread criticism online, with many users questioning the conduct of the officers and calling for accountability.

The development comes amid previous reports of alleged police harassment in parts of the country, further fueling concerns over public conduct and citizen-police relations.
