Troops of Sector 3, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have rescued a 47-year-old woman, Mrs Pollina Alfred, who was abducted from her residence in Dong Village, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The rescue operation was carried out on August 11, 2026, following the woman’s abduction from her home in the community.
According to a military source who spoke to Zagazola Makama, the troops commenced a search operation at about 7:00 a.m. after receiving information about the kidnapping.
The troops reportedly tracked the suspected kidnappers to the Rafin Bauna general area of Bassa Local Government Area.
As the search operation intensified, the troops reportedly came under pressure from the security forces, forcing the kidnappers to abandon their victim and flee into the surrounding area.
Mrs Alfred was subsequently located and rescued by the troops without further harm.
Following her rescue, the victim was debriefed by security personnel before being reunited with her family.
The operation underscores the continued efforts of security agencies to combat kidnapping and other forms of criminality across Plateau State.
