Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved automatic employment for seven National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members who distinguished themselves during their service year in the state.

The governor made the announcement on Tuesday during an awards ceremony held at the Cocoa Conference Centre, Governor’s Office, Akure, where outstanding teachers, students and recipients of national honours were recognised for their exceptional achievements.

A statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, said the employment offer formed part of the administration’s commitment to rewarding excellence and retaining outstanding talents in the state.

In addition to the employment opportunities, Governor Aiyedatiwa presented a cash reward of N1 million each to 66 award recipients in recognition of their dedication, hard work and outstanding contributions.

Speaking at the event, the governor described the award ceremony as a celebration of excellence and a testament to the importance of investing in human capital development.

He said the beneficiaries had brought honour to Ondo State through their academic excellence, innovation, discipline and commitment to success, describing them as worthy ambassadors of the Sunshine State and role models for future generations.

Aiyedatiwa also paid tribute to teachers, describing them as the architects of human capital and the silent heroes behind every success story.

According to him, nations are built through the efforts of committed educators who shape character, impart knowledge and inspire future leaders.

Earlier, the Ondo State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, said the awards were aimed at promoting excellence and motivating students and teachers across the state to strive for greater achievements.

He reiterated that education remains a top priority of the Aiyedatiwa administration, adding that the governor had directed the compilation of names of other outstanding students and citizens for future recognition.
