
Nigerian Basketball Icon, NBA Star and Former National Team Captain D’Tigers, Olumide Oyedeji, was in Jos, Plateau State over the
weekend for a 4day Basketball Clinic, Hosted by the Olumide-Oyedeji-Youth-Foundation 14th- 17th September, 2016.
The
event was used as a medium to teach and encourage young ones to Play the
game. Rounding off at the Jos Township Stadium, it was also a medium to
encourage youths to take education seriously.

Speaking, the Chairman Plateau State Basketball Association, Dr Levinus Miepkwap, said Plateau is the home of basketball within middle-belt Nigeria and this was a medium to catch them young and expose them to the game, he said the basket ball clinic futured 150 kids and this will go further to promote the game in the state.

Olumide Oyedeji had so much thanks to Almighty God who has graciously given him talent to help lead as an example to youths. He said that youths should take education seriously as that will add color to a sportsman, further noting that their is always life even after sports. He talked about himself as an example as he has bagged various degrees because he was schooling while he played the game.
Earlier, Olumide Oyedeji, payed a courtesy call to the Plateau state Governor, Barr. Simon Lalong, at the Government house Rayfield, Jos, the governor pledged Governments Suppport as his administration was resolved in encouraging youthful programs.
The event had the support of some notable personalities who all came
out to support this loadable project by Nigeria’s Basketball Icon
Olumide Oyedeji. The Anglican Archbishop Benjamin Kwashi was one of
those who came out to support and also show youths the usefulness of
sports and how it is done.
