As the countdown to the “Grazing Reserves” protest scheduled for Monday 13th June, 2016 by 9:00 am begins, security agencies in Plateau have invited the
leader of the protest – Mr. Dachung Bagos to attend a closed door
session with them at 8:00am (ahead of the protest).
The invite sent by the commissioner of police of Plateau state Mr.
Adekunle Oladunjoke, requested that Mr Dachung Bagos attends a meeting
with security agents, so that modalities of the protest to be fashioned
out etc.
Several of the protest organisers have expressed apprehension at the
invitation, saying Hon Bagos may be detained by the police longer than
necessary, as a ploy to jeopardize the protest which should commence by
9:00am at the Old Government House Rayfield, Jos.
However, at this stage, no evidence of such a plan by the police
exists and at the time of filling this report, Mr. Bagos was preparing
to attend the invitation at 8:00 am.
