Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, on Wednesday hosted the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria, Gautier Mignot, at his residence in Onitsha.
Obi disclosed the meeting via his X (formerly Twitter) handle, where he shared photos and described the engagement as productive.
“I had the honour and privilege of hosting the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency, Mr. Gautier Mignot, at my residence in Onitsha today, Wednesday. We had some insightful discussions during the meeting, which was enriching,” he wrote.
The meeting comes amid Obi’s continued political activity following the 2023 presidential election, which he lost to President Bola Tinubu.
The former Labour Party candidate has since indicated his intention to contest again in 2027. He is also being linked to a possible alliance under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), where he is speculated to emerge as the party’s presidential candidate.
Reports further suggest a potential running mate arrangement with former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, though no official confirmation has been made.
