The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed Commandant Toma Matthew Enya as the new Commandant of its Osun State Command.
Enya, who was redeployed from the Ekiti State Command, officially assumed office on Monday, taking over from Commandant Igbalawole Sotiyo at the command headquarters in Osogbo.
The deployment was approved by the Commandant-General of the NSCDC, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, as part of changes within the Corps.
Following the handing-over ceremony, Sotiyo led the new commandant on a courtesy visit to the Government Office, Abere, where he was received by the Deputy Governor of Osun State, Kola Adewusi, on behalf of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Speaking during the visit, Enya pledged to strengthen intelligence gathering and information sharing across the state.
He also assured the state government that the NSCDC under his leadership would remain committed to protecting lives and property and discharging its statutory security responsibilities.
Responding, Adewusi welcomed the new commandant and assured him of the state government’s continued support for the Corps.
He said the support would enable the NSCDC to effectively carry out its statutory duties and contribute to the security and development of Osun State.
Enya becomes the 18th NSCDC commandant in Osun State. He hails from Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi State.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.
The new commandant has served the Corps in various operational, investigative and administrative capacities and has undergone several professional courses in security operations, leadership and administration in Nigeria and abroad.
His assumption of office comes as the Osun Command continues to focus on intelligence-led operations and the protection of lives, property and critical national assets across the state.
