NPFL: Plateau United takes title push to Kano – Matchday 33 Preview/Fixtures

0

One
of the most important fixtures of the day should be in Kano where Kano
Pillars hosts Plateau United. The league leaders are drawing closer to
their first title in history and a win in the Pyramid City will be a
huge statement of intent. Kano Pillars are not having the best of
seasons and their hope for a title or making the first three is not
realistic. Masu Gida will be playing to sustain their standing in the
league and also want to claim bragging rights over a motivated United.

 Seven-time
Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions, Enyimba FC of
Aba are in Lagos to lace up against Agege landlords, MFM FC.

The game is one that sees two top teams clash at the business end of the season. MFM are 2nd
on the log and still have some decent chances of snatching the title
away from Plateau United who have enjoyed the summit of the table more
than any other team this term.

Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side will have the services of top goal poacher, Stephen Odey, his accomplice: Sikiru Olatunbosu as well asChukwuka  Onuwa
who will be eager to tame an striving side, Enyimba FC. Enyimba FC has
not succeeded in scoring in two successive away games, if this is
anything to go by, MFM has an edge.

The
defending champions have a tough one ahead. Their task is to face Wikki
Tourists who have been on a high and have arguably dusted their ends
off the drop zone. The have been winning games at home and this can be a
bad signal for Enugu Rangers.

Though
Rangers, this season, has picked a point on an unlikely venue:
Maiduguri. So the Flying Antelopes have some chances of getting
something out from the clash.

This
is another clash; bottom of the table teams to face each or in Matchday
33 fixtures. If you consider their position on the log, one would be
tempted to declare a drab game. But since the both sides are from the
same region, it has added more range to the nature of the encounter. ABS
FC are currently 18th
on the log, while it is Remo Stars that occupies the basement. ABS FC’s
chances of gaining 3 points are high for they play at home.

Other
games in the line include: Rivers United who will take on Katsina
United. In Ibadan, Shooting Stars hosts Gombe United, while determined
Lobi Stars welcome Abia Warriors. FC Ifeanyi Ubah will play against
Nasarawa United, in Nnewi, Niger Tornadoes take on El-Kanemi Warriors
and then and Akwa United take their form to Sunshine
