The Nollywood industry is in mourning following the death of veteran actor Prince Oyewole Olowomojuore, popularly known as Baba Gebu.
The sad news was shared by fellow actor Kunle Afod on Instagram, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of the movie star.
According to Afod, Baba Gebu passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, after battling an undisclosed illness. He described the late actor as a “great legend” whose contributions to Nollywood would always be remembered.
“It saddens my heart as I announce the passing away of our great legend, a great actor who passed away this evening after a brief illness… BABA GEBU may your soul rest in peace,” Afod wrote, sharing some pictures of the deceased.
Baba Gebu had a long and distinguished career in the Nigerian film industry, particularly in Yoruba-language cinema, contributing to several major productions.
In 2024, he spoke publicly about the de@th of his wife and explained that returning to active acting helped him cope and avoid depression.
