The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has again reduced the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) at its retail outlets.

A check by journalists on Monday morning showed that NNPCL filling stations in Abuja are now selling petrol at ₦815 per litre, down from the previous price of ₦835 per litre, representing a ₦20 reduction.

The new price has been implemented at NNPCL outlets in Wuse Zones 4 and 6, along the Keffi–Abuja Road, and on the Kubwa Expressway.

An attendant at one of the stations, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the price adjustment took effect on Sunday evening.

Despite the reduction, the ₦815 per litre price remains ₦79 higher than the ₦739 per litre currently sold at MRS filling stations nationwide, which are supplied by the Dangote Refinery.

Recall that on December 19, 2025, NNPCL slashed petrol prices by ₦80 to ₦835 per litre amid intensified competition in the downstream oil sector, following Dangote Refinery’s reduction of its gantry price to ₦699 per litre.

The latest cut reflects ongoing price adjustments as marketers respond to market competition and refinery-driven pricing dynamics.
