NNPCL Increases Petrol Price by Up to N85 Per Litre

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has increased the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, at some of its retail outlets.

The latest adjustment followed an increase in the gantry price of petrol by Dangote Petroleum Refinery from ₦1,265 to ₦1,350 per litre, representing an ₦85 increase.

In Lagos, NNPCL retail outlets reportedly increased their pump price from ₦1,299 to ₦1,380 per litre.

Prices have also risen at filling stations in Abuja and other parts of the country. In Abuja, some outlets were selling petrol between ₦1,395 and ₦1,430 per litre, depending on the marketer.

The latest increase has also affected transportation costs, with reports of higher fares in parts of Lagos and Ogun states.

The development comes amid rising international crude oil prices and renewed pressure on Nigeria’s downstream petroleum market.
