The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced the pump price of petrol at some of its retail outlets in Abuja.
A market survey on Sunday, September 27, showed that NNPCL stations in areas including Gwarimpa and Kubwa reduced their petrol price from ₦1,430 to ₦1,405 per litre.
However, some NNPCL outlets along the Kubwa Expressway, Air Junction and Wuse Zones 4 and 5 continued to sell petrol at ₦1,395 per litre.
This means prices at NNPCL stations across Abuja currently vary by about ₦10 per litre, depending on the location.
Other major and independent marketers, including MRS, Ranoil, AA Rano and Empire Energy, were reportedly selling petrol between ₦1,395 and ₦1,430 per litre in different parts of the Federal Capital Territory.
The latest adjustment followed a ₦25 reduction in Dangote Petroleum Refinery’s gantry price, which brought the refinery’s wholesale petrol price down to ₦1,325 per litre.
Despite the reduction, many filling stations have reportedly maintained their existing pump prices.
