A new non-governmental organisation has announced plans to provide free healthcare and other forms of support to widows and vulnerable families in Anambra State and other parts of the Southeast.
The organisation, founded by Prince Morgan Ndubuisi, said its initiative was created to support people struggling with the current economic challenges.
According to the founder, the NGO will provide healthcare assistance, financial support for small businesses, skills training, job opportunities and legal assistance to registered members.
Ndubuisi said members would have access to immediate healthcare support after registration and that the organisation would take responsibility for their medical expenses after six months of membership.
The initiative will initially focus on providing free healthcare to widows before extending financial and legal assistance to other beneficiaries.
The organisation also plans to support apprentices, promising to provide ₦10 million to a member’s child who completes a trade apprenticeship after two years of membership, in addition to whatever support is provided by the apprentice’s master.
The founder said the organisation operates independently of government and political parties and is focused on supporting vulnerable people.
The programme coordinator said local government coordinators had been directed to visit communities and appoint ward coordinators to facilitate registration and identify people in need.
