A grieving mother, identified as Ella, has called on authorities to seek justice following the tragic death of her two-year-old daughter at a school in Lagos.

Ella shared her heartbreaking experience in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, revealing that her daughter left for school on Wednesday but tragically did not return alive.

She alleged negligence on the part of the school, writing, “Dear Lagos State Government, our daughter of two years old went to school yesterday (Wednesday) and did not return alive. How do you have a pool on school premises without proper monitoring?”

Ella further claimed that the school misrepresented the circumstances of the child’s death. “They lied she drowned in the pool, but we have been able to find out that it’s electrocution, and they dropped her in the pool to make it look as if it was drowning,” she stated.

According to Ella, the school has not been transparent about the incident. She accused them of deceiving other parents by claiming the school was closed for maintenance instead of addressing the tragedy. “If nothing is done to close down that school, other parents may cry for their own kids attending the school,” she warned.

Raising questions about the school’s safety measures, Ella added, “The pool has barricades. How can a child of two years climb? Please help us get justice for our baby. She just celebrated her second birthday in November last year. She left home well for school on 15/1/2025 and never came back alive.”
