Ghanaian clergyman and founder of Solomon Oduro Ministries, Apostle Solomon Oduro, has officially announced the dissolution of his marriage to a popular marriage counselor, Rev. Charlotte Oduro.

In a statement issued on Monday, February 10, 2025, Apostle Oduro disclosed that he and Rev. Charlotte had been separated for three years before finalizing their divorce in 2024.

This revelation has sparked reactions, as it means the couple was no longer together when Rev. Charlotte made her controversial remarks advising women to pamper their cheating husbands instead of leaving them.

During a 2022 interview, Rev. Charlotte urged women to welcome their unfaithful spouses with love, good food, and intimacy rather than confronting them or ending the marriage. Her comments stirred debate, with many questioning her stance on infidelity and the expectations placed on women in relationships.

As a guest on Accra-based Okay FM with host Abieku Santana, she said people should endeavor to be considerate to their fellow humans and not be quick to judge them.

“When your husband returns home from cheating, let him settle, give him good s3x and food. It’s not right for anyone to cheat. Yes, it is wrong but we have all done wrong so we should be human. Let’s think thoroughly before we judge. It’s not right to do it but let’s give people a listening ear. After paying attention and listening, you can detect whether their actions were as a result of a mistake, or it was deliberate,
” she stated.

Apostle Oduro, in his statement, said the decision to part ways was reached after “much prayer, discussion, and careful consideration” due to irreconcilable differences. He emphasized that his public announcement was to prevent misinformation and unnecessary speculation.

He called on the Christian community to keep both himself and Rev. Charlotte in their prayers as they move forward separately. Despite the personal transition, Apostle Oduro affirmed his commitment to his ministry and the propagation of the Gospel.

“I humbly request that this sensitive transition be met with understanding,” he said.

“May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guide all hearts and minds during this season of transition,” the statement concluded.
