According to reports and a Facebook post he shared, Wene described the journey as unimaginably painful. He currently remains hospitalized, undergoing the necessary medical care. He expressed his resilience with the words, “Do I give time, distance to everyone? hour. scar? hour. mistrust? There is still time. Until then, Wene stays home!”
Wene’s incredible undertaking involved a solo five-day marathon from Lagos State to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, all in the hopes of securing a coveted place in the Guinness Book of World Records. The aspiring record-breaker informed the online community of his Guinness World Record endeavor via a Facebook post on Sunday, October 15.
Acknowledging the apparent impossibility of the challenge, Wene encouraged others to join him on this extraordinary adventure. A training flyer revealed that his journey commenced on Tuesday, October 17, with the expected conclusion on October 21.
Setting out from the Lekki Toll Gate at 4 a.m. on Tuesday, Wene embarked on this remarkable journey, attracting the attention and admiration of many. A subsequent Facebook post on October 21 confirmed his triumphant arrival in Rivers State after completing the demanding five-day marathon.
