The incident occurred at approximately 3:58 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026, at the amusement park in Austell, near Atlanta, Georgia. The Cobb County Police Department confirmed that one person died, while several others were reported injured.

According to eyewitness accounts, the man fell from the Goliath roller coaster while it was in motion. One witness told local media that the man appeared in photographs taken during the ride before falling and striking parts of the coaster several times.

Other witnesses reportedly said the man landed on the roof of a haunted house attraction below. However, authorities have yet to officially confirm the precise circumstances surrounding his death.

Following the incident, passengers who were left stranded on the roller coaster were evacuated by emergency personnel. The ride was brought to a stop during the response.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Six Flags Over Georgia expressed condolences to the victim’s family and said the park was providing support to affected visitors and staff while cooperating fully with authorities investigating the incident.

As a precaution, Six Flags temporarily closed nine roller coasters across six of its parks in the United States while the investigation continues.
