Man Caught Trying to Defraud POS Operator With Worn-Out Tyres

A young man narrowly escaped mob action after he was allegedly caught attempting to defraud a Point of Sale (POS) operator using old and damaged car tyres.

According to reports, the suspect approached the POS operator and claimed that he wanted to withdraw cash. He allegedly told the operator that a bank transfer he had attempted was unsuccessful and then offered several tyres as collateral in exchange for the cash.

The man reportedly claimed that the tyres were brand new and said he was in a hurry, asking the operator to accept them temporarily until he could return the money. However, the transaction raised suspicions among people nearby, who intervened and inspected the packages.

Upon opening them, they reportedly discovered that the tyres were old, worn out and damaged, contrary to the suspect’s claim that they were new. The discovery angered people at the scene, who apprehended the man.

An angry crowd reportedly gathered and was about to subject him to jungle justice before he was rescued. The incident has sparked reactions online, with many people condemning the alleged attempt to defraud the POS operator while also calling for suspects to be handed over to law enforcement rather than subjected to mob action.
