Lagos Free Zone has been recognised as the best free trade zone in West Africa at the West African Brands Excellence Awards held recently in Lagos.
The award was presented during the ceremony organised by the Institute of Brand Management of Nigeria to honour outstanding business achievements and contributions across the West African sub-region.
Speaking at the event, the convener and Deputy Registrar of the institute, Ifeoma Emeka, said Lagos Free Zone emerged winner after a rigorous assessment carried out by a panel of jurors.
According to her, the decision was unanimous due to the zone’s growing impact on economic development in Nigeria and the wider West African region, particularly through the expansion of commercial and industrial activities within the Ibeju-Lekki axis of Lagos State.
She noted that the free zone has become a major platform for attracting foreign direct investment by providing investors with incentives, modern infrastructure, and a business-friendly environment that supports profitability and long-term growth.
Chief Executive Officer of Lagos Free Zone, Dinesh Rathi, described the recognition as a reflection of the zone’s rising profile as a leading investment destination in West Africa.
Rathi stated that the award also acknowledged the commitment and dedication of the organisation’s team toward promoting economic growth and regional prosperity across the sub-region.
