Tokunbo Wahab, Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, has stirred controversy after retweeting a post suggesting that homeless people should return to their hometowns if they are not earning a living in Lagos.

This comes after some Nigerians reacted angrily to the video he shared on Tuesday, showing men of the state environmental taskforce arresting homeless persons under bridges in the state.

The video got some Nigerians emotional as it showed the moment an elderly man who takes refuge under the bridge was also arrested and asked to vacate under the bridge.

Wahab had mentioned in his earlier tweet that the 74 persons including homeless ones that were arrested will be arraigned in court.
