The Nenadi Usman-led faction of the Labour Party has scheduled a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting for June 11 to formally approve the outcomes of its recently conducted primary elections across the country.

According to a statement by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ken Asogwa, the NEC meeting will also ratify the list of candidates who emerged from the primaries for submission to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in line with the Electoral Act and the party’s constitution.

He added that certificates of return will be issued to successful candidates for presidential, governorship, senatorial, and House of Representatives positions immediately after NEC endorsement of the results.

Asogwa described the forthcoming meeting as a strategic milestone, noting that it will be the first NEC session since the party’s national convention and a key step in strengthening preparations and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The faction had earlier conducted nationwide primaries on May 30, during which governance expert and policy strategist Chibuzo Okereke emerged as its presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
