Nigeria’s Former Minister of Finance under the President Muhammadu Buhari administration, Kemi Adeosun, has been dragged into the recent case of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Walter Onnoghen, who is set to face trial tomorrow, Monday, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, for alleged false assets declaration.

Recall, that Kemi Adeosun resigned her position as Minister of Finance under Buhari, after an investigation showed that she possessed and presented a forged National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, certificate, prior to her appointment as Minister.

Recall also, that Minister received a lot of backlash from the general public and opposition parties, but none from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, nor President Buhari himself, before she eventually turned in her resignation letter and immediately fled the country, without any criminal charge against her.

A look into Twitter today, revealed that Kemi Adeosun was trending, and has been dragged into the recent case of the CJN, which has taken over national discourse in the last 24-hours.

While many Nigerians are of the opinion that President Muhammadu Buhari is a hypocrite, for never openly condemning or instituting criminal proceedings against the former Minister, but instead, allegedly helped and aided her in fleeing the country after her resignation, supporters of President Buhari and the APC, insist that since Kemi Adeosun was forced to resign her appointment after her scandal, the CJN must do the same.
