Members of the Jos South Local Government Legislative Council have passed a vote of confidence on the House Leader, Chomoshen Emmanuel, endorsing him as their consensus candidate for the 2027 Plateau State House of Assembly election.
The endorsement followed deliberations during plenary, where lawmakers commended Emmanuel, who represents Kushen Ward, for what they described as outstanding leadership and effective representation.

Moving the motion, the Deputy Leader of the House and Councillor representing Bukuru Ward, Pam Joseph, said Emmanuel’s ability to unite members across party lines has earned him respect within the council. He praised the House Leader for his inclusive leadership style, legislative commitment, and dedication to the development of Jos South Local Government Area.
Lawmakers noted that Emmanuel has successfully guided the affairs of the 7th Assembly with stability and unity, describing the council under his leadership as operating like one family.
In a related development, the council formally adopted Emmanuel as its sole candidate for the 2027 Jos South State Assembly seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The motion for his endorsement was moved by the Majority Leader and Councillor representing Du-B Ward, Ishaya Chuwang, and seconded by the Councillor representing Turu-B Ward, Sarah Pam.

The lawmakers said their decision was based on Emmanuel’s integrity, legislative impact, and track record of quality representation. They also pledged to mobilize support and canvass votes to ensure his victory in the 2027 elections.
Responding, Emmanuel expressed appreciation to his colleagues for the confidence reposed in him, describing the endorsement as both humbling and motivating. He assured that if elected, he would deliver effective and result-oriented representation for the Jos South constituency.
He also called on residents to continue supporting Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, in delivering democratic dividends to the people.
