Jos Muslim Ummah Committee Confirms Release of Arrested Jos Youths, Urges Calm

The Jos Muslim Ummah Committee for Peace Security and Stability has confirmed the release of three individuals earlier arrested in Jos North, following engagements with authorities and intervention by the Plateau State Government.

In a public notice dated April 7, 2026, the committee disclosed that the released individuals are Jibrin Ismail, Abduljalil Aminu Maidoki, and Ahmad Abdulhadi, all residents of communities within Jos North.

JOMUPSEC commended the leadership of Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for ensuring due process and responsiveness, noting that the development reinforces public trust in governance and the rule of law.

The committee urged members of the Muslim community, particularly youths, to remain calm, law-abiding, and avoid actions capable of escalating tension. It emphasized the need for dialogue and lawful engagement in resolving sensitive issues.

While appreciating stakeholders and community leaders who contributed to the outcome, JOMUPSEC reaffirmed its commitment to promoting peace, security, and stability through continuous engagement and cooperation with relevant authorities.
