The Jos Main Market Authority (JMMA) has announced that all markets within the Jos metropolis will remain open on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the authority said the decision followed consultations with the Plateau State Traders and Marketers Association and the Jos North Local Government Council, during which stakeholders agreed that traders should continue their normal business activities without disruption.
The authority assured traders, transporters, and residents that adequate security measures have been put in place across major markets and strategic locations in Jos to ensure the safety of lives and property.
JMMA encouraged traders and customers to go about their lawful activities peacefully, urging the public to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperative with security personnel to sustain peace and economic stability in the markets.
The notice comes amid ongoing efforts by authorities and market stakeholders to maintain normal commercial activities and public confidence across Plateau State.
