The immediate past Secretary of Quan’an Pan Local Government Area, Hon. Joseph Dashe, has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Mikang, Shendam and Quan’an Pan Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.

Dashe made the declaration during a grassroots consultation tour across eleven federal wards in Shendam Local Government Area, where he also received endorsements from stakeholders, community leaders, youths, and women groups.
The consultations were held under the platform of the “Joe Youth Unity Mandate 2027” as part of ongoing mobilisation efforts across the constituency.
The wards visited during the tour include Kalong, Shimankar, Moekat, Kurungbou B, Derteng, Yelwa, Kurungbou A, Pangshiom, Poeship, Shendam B, and Shendam A.
Addressing supporters and stakeholders during the engagements, Dashe said his aspiration was driven by a desire to provide purposeful representation, empower youths, and promote inclusive development across the constituency.
He pledged to initiate sustainable empowerment programmes targeted at women and youths to encourage self-reliance and economic growth if elected into office.
Dashe also promised to establish a functional constituency office in Shendam and hold regular town hall meetings to strengthen communication between elected representatives and constituents.
According to him, the consultation tour forms part of a broader strategy to mobilize grassroots support, foster unity, and consolidate political structures across the three local government areas that make up the constituency.

A major highlight of the tour was the endorsement Dashe received from ward stakeholders and community leaders, who described his aspiration as credible, grassroots-oriented, and focused on the needs of the people.
Speaking during the tour, the Director General of the Joseph Dashe Campaign Council and former Majority Leader of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Henry Yunkwap, described Dashe as an experienced administrator with a strong background in public service.
Yunkwap noted that Dashe had served in various capacities, including at the Plateau State Local Government Service Commission, as Secretary General of the Plateau Youth Council, and as a three-term Council Secretary of Quan’an Pan Local Government Council.
Ward chairmen and stakeholders across the communities also commended the “Joe Youth Unity Mandate 2027,” describing it as a serious movement committed to grassroots development and people-oriented leadership.
In line with local tradition, the campaign team paid homage to district heads in the various wards visited, where they received royal blessings and prayers for success in the political journey ahead.
The consultation tour is expected to continue in Mikang Local Government Area and Quan’an Pan Local Government Area in the coming days.
