The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned that Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres that fail to meet its operational standards will not be accredited to conduct the 2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The board said accreditation would depend on the availability of adequate facilities, reliable infrastructure and the technical capacity to conduct examinations without unnecessary disruptions.
JAMB Registrar, Professor Segun Aina, disclosed this during a meeting with the leadership of the Chief External Examiners, where preparations for the 2027 UTME accreditation exercise were reviewed.
According to a statement shared on the board’s official X account on Thursday, November 5, the exercise is aimed at improving examination administration and ensuring strict compliance with established operational requirements.
The board explained that the screening process would identify and exclude inadequately equipped centres to protect candidates from poor examination conditions.
It further stressed that accreditation would not be automatic for centres seeking approval to participate in the 2027 examination.
JAMB maintained that only centres meeting its requirements would be approved, assuring candidates of efforts to provide secure, reliable and conducive environments for the examination across the country.
