Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has issued a fresh warning to a woman she referred to as “Mrs Edochie” amid her ongoing public dispute with actress Judy Austin.
In a social media post, Edochie vowed that “weapons fashioned” against her would not prevail, while accusing the woman of taking another person’s husband.
The actress did not mince words in her message, which appeared to be directed at Austin, who is married to actor Yul Edochie.
The dispute between Edochie and Austin has been playing out publicly for years and has now extended to the courts.
Austin filed a ₦1 billion defamation suit against Rita Edochie and her former husband, Emmanuel Obasi, over statements she alleged were defamatory. She also sought an injunction restraining further publication of the statements and an order for their removal from online platforms.
Edochie has maintained her position in the dispute and recently dismissed reports that she had denied making previous social media posts targeting Austin.
She also questioned Austin’s use of the name “Mrs Yul Edochie”, asking her to produce a marriage certificate before she would respond further to the lawsuit.
The case is scheduled for hearing on September 29, 2026, with both women continuing to exchange public statements ahead of the court proceedings.
