Veteran juju music legend, Ebenezer Obey, has dismissed rumours of his death, describing them as “lies from the kingdom of darkness.”
Reports had circulated online claiming that the 82-year-old singer suffered a stroke and passed away. However, Obey took to Instagram to refute the claims, sharing a video in which he appeared alongside his two sons.
The video was captioned: “Stop the rumours!!!! Ebenezer Obey is alive and well.”
In the clip, Obey clarified that he had only travelled to London for personal care and expressed dismay at the false reports, which included fabricated images of coffins.
“Everything they have said is nothing but lies that came from the kingdom of darkness. I am alive, I am alive, says the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you very much. I don’t have a stroke. I came to London to look after myself,” he said.
This is not the first time the music icon has faced such rumours. Similar false reports about his death surfaced in 2020 and again earlier this year.
