Gwom Rwey Foron Appreciates Supporters After Successful Coronation

The 20th Gwom Rwey Foron, Da David Bunah Dashong, has expressed deep appreciation to dignitaries, traditional leaders, government officials, and well-wishers who supported and attended his official coronation ceremony held on February 27, 2026.

In a message of appreciation issued on behalf of the Foron Traditional Council and the Kingmakers, the monarch gave glory to God for the successful coronation and thanked all individuals and groups whose efforts contributed to the historic event.

The royal father particularly expressed gratitude to the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for his unwavering support and for honouring the ceremony with his presence.

He also acknowledged the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Daniel Na’anlong, as well as the Gbong Gwom Jos and Chairman of the Plateau State Council of Chiefs and Emirs, Jacob Gyang Buba, who is also the President of the Jos Joint Traditional Council, for attending the coronation.

The monarch further appreciated the presence of former Plateau State Governor, Jonah David Jang, and his wife, Talatu Jang, alongside senators Diket Plang, Istifanus Dung Gyang, and Simon Mwadkwon for honouring the event.

Also acknowledged were Kachollom Daju, Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Health, Abuja, the Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government Council, Stephen Gyang Pwajok, and Fom Dalyop Sancho, among other government officials and political stakeholders who attended the ceremony.

Special recognition was also accorded to prominent personalities including Jonah Madugu, Gyang Zi, and Chris Giwa. The monarch equally acknowledged the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State, Rufus Bature, as well as Kefas Ropshik, popularly known as Kefiano.

He further appreciated serving and former members of the National and State Assemblies, commissioners, government appointees, traditional leaders, and the various Gwom Rweys from different districts who attended the coronation, as well as numerous sons and daughters of Foron and well-wishers who travelled from within and outside Plateau State to witness the occasion.

The monarch also expressed gratitude to religious leaders who offered prayers and spiritual support during the ceremony. They include the Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) Regional Church Council in Foron, Danladi D. Jik; the Senior Pastor of COCIN Headquarters Church, Caleb Dami; the Parish Priest of St. Mark’s Parish Foron; and the Leading Pastor of COCIN LCC Bukuru, Fadam Miri, among other clergymen.

Da Dashong further commended the Coronation Planning Committee, chaired by former Minister of Water Resources, Sarah Reng Ochepe, for their dedication and tireless efforts in organising the coronation ceremony.

He equally appreciated the sons and daughters of Foron both at home and in the diaspora for their unity, support, and contributions towards the success of the coronation.

The royal father also acknowledged the role of security agencies and local vigilante groups, including the Berom Warriors, for maintaining peace and order throughout the coronation activities.

According to the monarch, the support and goodwill shown by the people of Foron and guests from far and near demonstrate the unity and strength of the community.

He assured the people of his commitment to serve with dedication and prayed for God’s blessings upon all those who contributed to the success of the coronation ceremony.
